SATUR OCAMPO and BAYAN MUNA Party List hosted Batang Mag-aaral: Suportang gamit pang-eskwela, para sa estudyante sa elementarya last Sept. 5, 2009 in Brgy. Bagong Silang, Caloocan City. There were 850 beneficiaries from 4 Caloocan City public schools.

In 2005, the progressive bloc of Bayan Muna, Anakpawis and Gabriela Women’s Party broke away from the House majority. Ocampo has since been elected as a Deputy Minority Leader, and remains the acknowledged leader of the progressive bloc. He is a principal author of the law abolishing the death penalty. He has authored bills penalizing torture and enforced disappearances, the Marcos human rights victims compensation bill, command responsibility bill, and measures controlling oil prces, developing the rice industry and many others.

Sa panayam ng Pinoy Weekly noong Hunyo 3, sinabi ni Ka Satur Ocampo na "ang publiko" -- ang mamamayang Filipino -- ang mapagpasya sa pagharang sa anumang tangka ng gubyernong Arroyo na buuin ang Kongreso bilang isang Constituent Assembly. Ayon kay Ka Satur, walang sapat na bilang ang minorya sa Kongreso para pigilan ang Con-Ass. Ngunit kung magkakaroon ng popular na oposisyon laban sa Con-Ass, posibleng iatras ito tulad ng ginawa noon sa tangkang Cha-Cha o Charter Change.
