In the wake of the assassination of jueteng whistleblower Boy Mayor, Makabayan senatorial bet and Nacionalista Party guest candidate Satur Ocampo has revived calls for the passage of a law protecting whistleblowers.

Makabayan senatorial bet and Nacionalista Party guest candidate Satur Ocampo today expressed alarm over the brutal killing of Wilfredo Cimanis Mayor, a confessed “jueteng” operator from Albay who once tagged President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s son, Pampanga Rep. Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo, two other congressmen and a former lawmaker of benefitting from jueteng in Pampanga.

Deputy Minority Leader and Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo today said that the National Bureau of Investigation and Philippine National Police's (PNP)'s arrest of murder suspect Jason Aguilar Ivler proves that the said agencies can be efficient in their work when they put their minds to it. He said that it took the agencies a relatively short period to find and arrest the suspect.

Bayan Muna Rep. and Senate candidate Satur Ocampo today said that heads must roll over the fiasco involving the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and its atrocious error in investigations that resulted in the lay-off of Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Jason Aguilar.
